Finalists will gather in New York City to participate in a writing workshop taught by Colum McCann, the bestselling author of Let the Great World Spin, and compete in a "Fiction Throwdown" to be held at the Esquire Penthouse on November 1st.
Participants will perform their short short fiction in front of a live audience of contest judges and literati: authors, celebrities, and publishing industry gurus. The grand prize winner will be announced at the party and will walk away with a full ride to the 2012 Advanced Fiction Workshop at Aspen Summer Words, the Aspen Writers' Foundation's flagship writing retreat held each June in Aspen, Colorado.
